This is a story about pirates, and how they are becoming a lot more active in recent years. Why would they become more active? What did the pirates do in this news story and what are the possible outcomes? Why the British Government would refuse to pay the ransom, is this a good or bad idea?

I think the reason why their becoming more active now then what they were in recent years. Is becasue a lot of people under estimated them. And that pirates weren't true and never really was on this world to begin with. But I do think it is pointless for the Britsh Govn, to pay them because, if they get more money then they'll try to overpower more states, and I don't think thats what this govn. wants at this moment.

ReplyDeleteThe pirates in this news story kidnapped a British couple and demanded a seven million dollar ransom. But the government refused to pay the ransom, so there could be several outcomes; after a while the pirates could tire of waiting for thte ransome money and just let the couple go, or they could get tired and kill either one or both of the people. If the pirates do not get the money they demanded they also might kill one of them and find a way to send the body to the British government as a warning and then demand even more money.
The British Government may have refused to pay the ransom of seven million dollars because paying the ransom is giving in and that would only encourage others to be like these pirates since they would know that the ransom would be paid. It is because of this that I think that not paying the ransom is not a good thing, nor is it a bad thing.

i guess being a pirate would be cool, from what i see in movies.and the picture in the article does not even look like the people in the movies? i think its a good we are not paying the ransom because i think that they just want money and our goverment does not have the money to be giving it out to these so called pirates.
