Do you think the punishment fit the crime? Is this a criminal act or just kids being kids? Why do you think the school found it necessary to arrest the children involved? What message does it send to the rest of the school and the community? Is that a type of community and school you think would make model citizens? Why or why not?

i think its so stupid that they were arrested they were just joking around noone got hurt nothing was wrong dont be suprised if we have a food fight soon
ReplyDeleteNo this is not punishment for this crime. These are kids just having fun in shcool. School nowadays is so gay that kids dont ever want to come. Stuff like this makes it fun even though they shouldnt have done it, it is a memory they will have for life. I think that its funny and everyone in the community makes the cops look like idiots. This school should be made fun of because they really took it further than they needed too.
ReplyDeletethe crimanal act was bad but the punishment was just i=out of control they should have only got like a few days of out of school sepention not aressted and cuffed jury was ok thoug
ReplyDeleteThis is a extreme punishment for a food fight. If someone throws something at you wouldnt you throw something back? I'm not sure why the school decided to give such a harsh punishment. To prove a point? To scare kids out of doing things like this again? I think it send out the wrong kind of message to the rest of the school and the community. Kids are probably scared of the teachers and such at the school. The community is probably upset with the school for arresting their kids and friends kids for absolutely no reason. I think that the whole district is insane and this case just showed it.
ReplyDeleteI think that the punishment is not acceptable because it was just a food fight.I think that the act was that the ids just wanted to be kids in a certain way.I think that sending the kids to jail was not necessary because they are just kids. But instead just give them a detention. The message is that the staff just wants to get rid of the kids and can't handle them.No because if you just throw food and get sent to jail for it then that is a strict community and school.
ReplyDeleteThe school putting them in jail for a simple food fight is completly outragious; Everyone has food fights at least once in their lives its just in our immature nature. I really don’t think the school had any right putting them in jail I can see detention or maybe at the worst suspension. I don’t even see how they were able to put them in jail and actuly arrest them for it. Some kids are out getting underagers and they don’t get put in jail.. And these were middle school kids!! I think they may have done it because they didn’t want it happnaning again but it is going to end up looking worse on their part, the parents are going to be verry upset I bet and try and do something about it.
ReplyDeleteno i do not think that the punishment fits the crime.
ReplyDeletei do not think this is an act of crime. the food fight is just kids being kids.
i think the school just wanted the attention and publicity, and thats why they called in for police help.
to mr it seems like they made a complete fool out of themselves and im pretty sure the surrounding area, community members, students, and families are too happy. they sound like a very strict school. i also think this article will give other schools an idea of punishment, there for i think its dumb.
i do not think it makes them model citizens..it makes them look stupid and im sure that people are highly upset.
overall i think this is a stupid punishment.
no i do not think they should be aressted becaues they where just being kids.enstead of getting aressted they should have bin saspended.
ReplyDeleteI really dont think the opunishment fit the crime.byfar, that is going over the top a little bit.maybe if they would have given them detention for a couple days or suspened them but jail...REALLY????? i dont even think you can consider it a crime.i think it was just kids being kids.maybe arresting the kids that were involved will scare anyone else thinking of starting a food fight into not doing it.
ReplyDeletei do not think this punishment is right. i have not yet to see one school who has done such an stupid act towards a little food fight. and then taking them to jail they a little kids who still don't know right from right yet.
ReplyDeletei think they though that someone was going to get seriously hurt and they would get it held against the school.
that this school is really strik. and not very nice.
well first off you cannot arrest a minor and put them in jail.
ReplyDeletethis is just kids being kids. i sometimes wanna throw a slice of pizza at a few people.
Maybe they found it necessary to arrest them because they were wildly under control.
I think it tells the school not to start food fights and i believe it tells the community that the cops are serious about the job.
