Much of the video focused on education.
On one side there was the argument that technology and the distractions that it causes are having a negative effect on young people...poorer reading and writing skills and shorter attention spans.
On the other hand there was evidence that introducing technology into some schools has resulted in improved student attitudes, higher standardized test scores, and greater student achievement.
How do you think technology should be used in education? What do you think school will be like in 5 or 10 years in terms of use of digital technology?
I think it would be better for people to have comuters for education. Most of the time with my glasses I still can't see the board. But we also use the projectors on the boards. To me typing is easier than writing with my hand. In five to ten years I think the schools would have computers or some kind of way of teaching with computers.

ReplyDeleteI beleieve that we should have more technology introduced into our learning expierence because the world is evolving around us and we have no control over that. Soon people who are considered "smart" will not seem so smart because they will not know anything about the technologies that are advancing around us. In this modern society we are becoming acustom to the technology that we use everyday. Trying to keep this out of our schooling will hold our generation back from the advances that we are making. That will cause our generation to seem less "smart" then before because of a lack of information of the thing that are happening.
ReplyDeleteI think that technology used in education is good for schools, kids and teens these days know quite a bit about computers and we enjoy them; books not so much (: Some schools are starting to use computers everyday in almost every class insted of useing paper. Its eco friendly and faster. I think that school in the next 10 years will probably be all done on computers.
ReplyDeleteI think that technology is importNT IN SCHOOLS FOR MANY REASONS BECAUE IT KEEPS US UP TO DATE WITH THE REST OF THE WORLD. oTHER OARTS OF THE WORLD ARE DVANCING AND WERE FALLING BEHIND.
ReplyDeleteI believe technology will greatly advance in the next few years leading us into a whole new society. Just as when the car was invented it changed the world. technology is advanceing and I believe it will greatly help America in the sense of education by creating new ways and new ideas to learn and do things.
ReplyDeletei agree with ambers comment about using technology in school, because using computers are faster than writing things down on paper and also you cant lose you computer like you can lose your papers and then you lose points and it hurts you in the long run. so yes technology use in school is a good thing!!!!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Amber. While techonology is not necessaryily good for us, it is good for education. Most kids/teens dont like to read at all and and when they use a computer to read something, it may make it seem funner to them. I also agree that it is moe eco friendly. On average, people use 749 punds of paper per year. by using techonology, less paper will be used and more trees will be saved.
ReplyDeletei agree with marissa i think that we should all have our own computers for school work because i think that we would all get our work done, although i do not have a problem seeing, i can see how distractions such as that discourages students learning.
ReplyDeletei think technology will help schools alot in the future. i wish tyrone had enough money for us to carry around computers instead of books and folders and such. it would be a little heavier but it would be for a good cause.

ReplyDeleteI believe that technology is going to keep inproving over years from now. I think in the future are children and are grand children will end up switching over to computers for there education because as we stand right now we are on technology most of the day even if its just listening to the teacher and showing us are lesson on their smart boards. As we stand are moderen life is being changed into technology.
ReplyDeleteI think that that we should have laptops in school because one, for the kids that want to learn they can greatly improve their knowlege but if they dont want to they can play games and watch movies
ReplyDeleteI think it's a good thing but yet and can ruin the way people pay attention to what the subject is. Another plus side is teachers have a lot of acess to many good programs on the internet. i think eventually technology will take over the schools in the future because there are so many sources and activities to do online.
