In recent years digital media such as multi-player online games and social media networks have exploded in popularity.
Supporters argue that these technologies allow people to become more social and expand their network of friends and acquaintances. Opponents argue that they often lead to abuse, internet addiction, and/or harassment and cyber-bullying.
In today’s world of technological immersion, in what ways is technology helping us to develop more meaningful personal relationships? In what way is it hurting our "real-world" relationships with others?
a good way that it is helping the u.s is that it is helping the kids in school and a bad way would be that playing on the comp is not makeing kids active and leads to poor health.
ReplyDeleteI think that technological immersion is helping people to develop relationships by letting people express their complete feelings to someone without getting a hurtful rejection in front of everyone, it is easier to say something over the computer than to the persons face, everyone knows that; But it hurts real world relationships because people are talking to people they don’t even know giving out their phone numbers ect. It is also bad because it is better to express yourself to someone face to face in my opinion than over phone or computer even though its not easier.
ReplyDeleteI think that it's helping out relationships in ways cause you can talk to people from other countries. Then again it causes people to start loads of drama with people they don't even know. It's hurting real world reltionships because of the way people use the computers, and the time spent on them.
ReplyDeleteIn todays internet people are helping others by others helping with research,personal problems, finding jobs, finding whats best for our future. Also in someways its harmful. Take predators for an example they wanna try and get with you and mess with you. If you dont know them you really shouldnt take to them. Say if your on Aim and you get this really odd im that says heyy its soo and soo and you dont know who it is ask your friends because it just might be a predator. Other things that could be harmful is unsafe websites. If you arent sure about it. Then its probably NOT safe.
ReplyDeleteTechnology is creating more meaningful personal relationships for people who are included in the games like runescape go to conventions and become friends from just recognize each others voice. But in the real-world parents are losing their relationships with their children because they are getting to the point where their children are either playing videogames or texting their friends when the parents are trying to have a conversation with them.
